I have a confession to make. I caught Powerball fever like many other Americans over the past week or so. I bought more than one Powerball ticket and spent my fare share of time reading about the record jackpot.

But I did not win the Powerball drawing on Wednesday. In fact, I didn’t even win the smallest amount possible. Some people may have been sad. I mean I did have a chance. Like 1 in 292 million chance or something? Good odds if you ask me.

But I wasn’t sad or angry. In fact, I realized that I didn’t need to win because when I look at my life I know that I have already hit the jackpot.

Here are 3 Ways I Hit the Lottery Jackpot:

1. I am married to the women of my dreams. I know I have mentioned this a few times on this blog, but I don’t think I can mention it enough. When I met Ashley back in 2010 I hit the jackpot. When she said yes to my marriage proposal, I hit the jackpot. Every morning when I wake up next to her, I know that I have hit the jackpot and no amount of money in the world could make me happier than she does.
2. I love what I do for a living. My work is not really work at all for me. I get paid to do what I have wanted to do since I was a child. I am really lucky to love what I do. A lot of people don’t even like what they do. Are there things that I don’t like about my job from time to time? Yes of course. But I choose to focus on the what I do love and I think that’s what everyone should do. Ninety percent of your job is probably good and 10 percent not so good. Why focus on the 10 percent?
3. I understand that I am the Boss of my life. I have control over whether or not I am successful. I have control over whether or not I accomplish my goals. I am personally responsible for my actions. I accept blame for my mistakes.

There are many other things I could list as reasons I have hit the lottery jackpot. My faith, my relationship with my parents and my in-laws, or even all of the community work I am fortunate enough to do.

The real point of this post though is to help you realize that you don’t have to play the lottery and hope to win to be happy or to be successful. You can choose to win the lottery.

You possess more power than the Powerball. You have probably already hit the jackpot.

You are in control. You should Be the Boss of Your Life and focus on all of the good, all of the many blessings in your life. That is what I choose to do and I must tell you that I am rich beyond my wildest dreams.
